Lola is Here!!!!

When I moved out of my parents house I got a hamster for a pet and pretended that it was either my cat or guard dog. Her name was Alberta. I had gotten Alberta when she was a baby and she became quiet the character. I remember my parents babysitting her and commenting on how personable she was. She died of cancer a few months after Ben and I got married.

Ironically, Ben wanted to get another hamster. So, then there was Roosevelt. He was our escape artist. At that point, I was prego with Logan and couldn't sleep anyways. I would awake to him stratching on something and have to chase him down and put him back. He died a couple days before we left to move to Hawaii. While in Hawaii, Ben and I really wanted to get another hamster but they don't have hamsters on the island.

Getting a hamster was on my list of top 10 things to do when we got to the mainland (along with going to Target). After some searching we finally found a pet store that carried hamsters. We were between Chuck and Charlie for a name, but looked and realized we have a girl. So, it became Lola like the Disney cartoon Charlie and Lola. She's roughly 1 month or 1 -1/2 months old and so cute and adorable. Logan has been in our room constantly to check on her. Logan likes holding her. Cora has touched her, but that has been the extent of that interaction. Ben told Cora that she had to learn to be gentle and she threw herself on the floor and started screaming. I sometimes think that I actually have two two-year-olds.
