Children's Museum 1

I think the one place I was truly disappointed in was the Children's Museum. The kids probably had a lot of fun, but it was definatly over their heads through most of it.

Logan tried his hand at rock climbing and did a pretty good job. Both of the kids climbed up on the horse and pretended to ride. Cora found a baby stroller with babies in it and had a blast pushing the babies around for a bit.

More of the Fountain

Hoagle Zoo

While in Salt Lake we went to the zoo. I was so surprised to see animals acutally move. In Hawaii they were all lazy and sleeping everytime we went. It was the elephant's bithday, so the place was really crowded and it was extremely hot. In the end I think Cora had a blast. I'm not so sure about Logan because he lost it towards the end. There was a baby chipmunk/squirrel the came with in 6 inches (in the wild) of Logan. They both just stared at eachother, checking the other out. It was so cool.

Sonic Drive-In

cool guys with new watches
mmm. chocolate milk

While in Salt Lake we had a list of places we wanted to eat: IHOPS, Krispy Kreme (no longer open booo!), Sonic, Applebees, and Denny's. I'm sure there was a few more places, but I can't remember. It is kind of humerous to me because when were back home in Indy we hardly ate at the above places, but when you've been in hawaii for 3 years and then move to an extremely small town you can't wait to go to them. Plus, the fact that advertisement isn't for specific locations. For example, advertising Olive Garden is just cruel!

Of course, the kids could care less. Well, sort of. We got one kids meal for them to share (we are big on cutting costs by sharing family style) and it came with a watch. Ben had just found a watch earlier in the day that he liked, so Logan was thrilled to be just like daddy. Even now if he finds it in his toys it must go on immediatly.
It was pretty fun! The cherry limade definatly hit the spot and Ben said the conney dog was really good too.

Attempt at taking a Picture

Cora and Logan racing to see who is the fastest.
Ok. I'll stop, hurry. Ok. I'm going. Bye.
HUH? you wanted a picture?
Mom, this rock is so much cooler than pictures.

So, the kids and I decided to go for a walk, because while we were in Salt Lake Ben had to go to one of the NWS offices and work a few hours. While on our walk, I discovered that I had locked ourselves out of our hotel room. Then, when we got back in I realized I left the pacifier for Cora in the car. It ended up being a really long day! In the mean time of all this activity I had the brilliant idea of getting the kids picture together. It didnt' happen. If one looked up, the other looked down. Oh well, I tried.

Salt Lake City- Family Vacation I

We recently went on our first family vacation to Salt Lake City (3 1/2 hours away). I loved the city! we completely gave in and brought along our laptop for in the car. For those of you who haven't had the conversation/debate with Ben and I: we are against dvd players in the car. We dind't use the laptop on the way there because we didn't have an adaptor to be able to plug it into the car. We pretty much used it all the way home because we were ready to be home and Logan turned into a terror the last day and a half.

We spent a lot of time downtown just watching the water fountain play to music. We didn't end up letting the kids play in it.

While we were in Salt Lake we went to a "REAL" pet store. We had a lone pet store here, but it has recently closed its doors. The pet store prepared us for the zoo. Cora was very fascinated by the birds and squatted to get a up close view of them.

Swimming in the Back Yard

Well, the kids were swimming in the carport actually. Well, Cora was. Logan has become really weird about the water lately. He doesn't want to get in the water at all. We even went to the public pool and he had to be coaxed into it. He is also starting to become the same way when it comes to taking a bath or shower. He'll play jsut fine but hates washing. He has a complete meltdown when it is time to wash.

Cora is the complete opposite. She loves the water and tries to swim. She'll get on her tummy and kick while repeating, "kick, kick, kick." If only she was old enough to take swim lessons. I think she'd have a blast.

For Logan's birthday, we were going to sign him up but ended up not. Maybe next year.

Pigtails

I know, I haven't posted in forever. Hopefully over the next couple of days I'll get posts updated and everyone can see what we've been up to.

Cora's hair is finally starting to get long enough to do things with. If only I could get it to stay put for more than 10 minutes that would be great.
