Painting

So, a few days ago I realized that I was out of wrapping paper. I got out the roll of brown postal paper and let the kids go to town. Logan cracks me up because he get so serious when he is painting. He did take a break to blow me a kiss though. Too sweet.

Our New Basement

The day has finally come, we have a fully functional and finished basement. Well, minus a drop-ceiling that needs to be put in. The kids have a play room that they can go crazy in and love to go down there to run and play. It will be so nice this winter to take them down there and let them lose to run around.

My Little Garden

This year got started a bit late since we were still getting frost on the ground the beginning of June. Logan and Cora helped be plant the veggies and Logan loves to go and look at everything growing. We have planted tomatoes, zucchini, bell pepers, carrots, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower. So far, we've only managed 6 tomatoes, 2 zucchini, 3 bell peppers, tons of spinach and lettuce, and 3 broccoli florets. We've been having frost advisories lately, so I have a feeling not much more will come from the little garden.
Please don't pay too much attention to my uncut yard. We are attempting to grow grass and kill the thistle. I have pretty much given up on my yard, maybe if we are still living here next year I'll go for it.

New Car

In May, we got a Dodge Journey that has third row seating and is super nice. Now, if we have visitors we can all fit into a car without being smooshed. the kids and I washed the car this morning and I went out and took pictures before the weather decided to bring a dust storm. Dust storms seem to happen every time I wash either car. grr.

Potty Training Cora

Cora has officially pooped on the potty twice. Woohoo for her. I have to watch her like a hawk though. If she gets the look or hides all of a sudden to the potty we go. She seems to be amazed at herself afterwards when she waves bye-bye. Yes, we dance to the pee-pee music that flows from our bodies and we wave bye-bye to anything that might be in the potty that we are flushing. Both become very embarrasing when you are in a public restrooom with your kids.

Cora doesn't seem to get the sensation of "I need to pee, Mom. Let's go." Well, unless we are in the middle of eating somewhere or in the middle of store. Why not at home, I wonder. So, instead we follow the cues of Logan. He's gotta pee, she's gotta pee. I've also discovered if I sit her on the potty then she'll pee or
