Wanna be Reader

We got the kids a leapfrog leap pad recently and they have been enamored by it. Cora likes to sit and just point to thing with the pen.

Laundry Time

Between Logan and Cora the laundry seems to be caught up and done. They both love to put the dirty clothing in the washer and take the clean laundry out of the dryer. I think Cora had woken up from nap before Logan and so she got to help with the laundry all by herself....big excitement at our house!

We even played a little peek-a-boo

Bread and Butter

Cora and Logan LOVE bread and butter. Ben took this picture of her eating some. If only we could have put sound on the pictures because Cora was was saying, "mmmmmm."

Rest of Thanksgiving Day

Cora likes to help me cook, so I sit her up on the counter to help.

Cora was starting to wind down and get tired, then the sugar hit. (note the Nerds box in hand).

Little European in Training

My side of the family is Italian and we love garlic. Ben's side of the family is Swiss-German and they love their garlic too. I guess it should come as no surprise when Cora requested to taste and smell the garlic on Turkey day. She loved it too. My parents love to tell the story of me also eating garlic out of the jar, I guess she gets it from me. Hey, it is good for your body...maybe not your breath though.

Making Apple Pie for Thanksgiving

Ok, so this totally shows how far behind I am on posting blogs. I am getting there though. The kids are currently napping and I'm busy in the basement trying to play catch-up.

My favorite tool of the kitchen is the Apple-peeler-corer-slicer by Pampered Chef. I've been in love with it since the age of 13 and requested that I have my parent's APCS when I got married. This Thanksgiving I decided to pass the love on to Logan. He thought he was hot stuff. Mixing and and turning. It made me extra happy to see that he was enjoying himself as well. Of course, I managed to overflow the Apple pie and forget to put a cookie sheet under it. oops. Logan and Cora ate apple pie for breakfast a couple days afterwards too. (It's the holidays) Ben requested that I make it more often. Apprently I've not made apple pie for him in 5 years. Another oops. I guess more than once every five years can be arranged.

Our Good Little Brusher

Logan has started to get the hang of brushing his teeth down. It took what seemed like forever to get to this point too. We say "Eeee" and "Aahhh" to help out with getting our front and back teeth. Cora is slowly catching on, but is still stuck in the "let's eat the toothpaste Mom" mode.

Cora also hit with Cold Season

Cora was also hit with a cold and spent a few days lounging around watching tv. I thought it was cute that she had put her arms behind her head while laying on the floor.

I was even more shocked when I walked into Logan's room, because it had a strange noise coming from it, and found Cora passed out on the floor. She doesn't do that. She was also so congested she was snoring like an old man; hence the strange noise I was hearing.

Making Brownies

Logan doesn't always nap, but if he is quiet and has layed down for a little but I'll let him get up. On this day, we made brownies. I let him lick the spoon (no eggs were included yet). He thought it was the greatest thing ever and tasted even better.

Logan Schooling

Recently I've decided that Logan is not being challenged enough and that he is really smart. So, I've been channeling that by doing home preschooling. This was one of the days we did a page where we had to cut different objects out color and paste them in the correct colored basket. He had a lot of fun and thinks it is even better to get stickers when you finish a page. I went to the store today so I could get more ink for our printer. I thouht maybe I could copy the pages and get Cora going on the shapes and colors pages. We will probably put Logan in a preschool next year to help him ease into the classroom setting and social aspect.

Monkey's in a Barrel

Last year Logan got the game Monkey's in a Barrel and has finally figured it out. He likes to pair the colors together an stand up to see how tall it is.

Must Have Spinach

Logan and Cora have really gotten into the idea of helping Momma cook and doing things in the kitchen. I'll let them stir things up or pick out the veggies for supper. As you can tell from the picture we are having green beans, spinach, pasta, and salmon. I had decided we would have green beans since I had winged the pasta and wasn't sure how it would turn out. Ben doesn't care for canned spinach and would have nothing to eat but salmon. Cora insisted that we have spinach and hugged the can to her chest until I agreed. Giving into spinach....I see no harm, only humor.

Puzzle and Doodle Time

Cora loves the little doodle pad and likes it more if Ben and I will draw on command. She'll walk up and ask for us to draw spongebob and will immediatly erase it and ask for it to be drawn again. If only we would do it all day long. hmmm....

Logan has gotten super good at puzzles and has blow both Ben and I away. He can now put interlocking pieces together. Of course, you'll also note Cora has displayed her lovely art work on this particular puzzle.

My sick little bubby

Our little bubby, Logan, was sick and not feeling well about a week or so ago. He was so pitiful and just layed around.

Good Eats Staring Cora

You know the food is good when the kids start licking their plates. Of course, it was a meal that Ben and I both considered gross. (It was hamburger helper taco thing that I put in a burrito).

Good Morning

Since we have switched Logan to his own room Cora has been begging for Logan's pillow to sleep with or one of our pillows. She's gotten better and is sleeping better by herself. Sometimes Cora will climb into Logan's bed and pretend to be asleep, which will send Logan running to Mommy or Daddy to get her out of his bed. On this day, Logan decided to join her and play.
